Videos of Powerstream® in action
The left video shows how fog forms when the high-performance Masterveil Powerstream is not in operation. The warm air from one room comes into contact with the cold air from the other room, causing a significant amount of fog and ice. This situation not only creates safety risks for personnel, but also increases the likelihood of damage to equipment and increased maintenance costs.
In the right video, a clear difference is noticeable when the air curtain is switched on. The patented isolation airlayer of the Powerstream configuration acts as an insulator between the two spaces, preventing airflows of different temperatures from mixing together. This barrier eliminates fog and effectively separates the spaces. This air curtain thus acts as an “invisible door”, maintaining the different climate zones without physical closure.
Advantages of Masterveil's Powerstream setup:
- Reduced fog and ice build-up: the Powerstream prevents warm, moist air from coming into contact with cold air, eliminating fog and ice build-up.
- Energy saving: because the air curtain forms a barrier, both rooms remain at their respective temperature and humidity levels. As a result, these rooms do not need to be re-air-conditioned, which lowers energy consumption and reduces the load on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Safety and visibility: by preventing fog formation, visibility remains good, which is important for the safety of personnel and machinery. In addition, it reduces the chance of slippery floors due to icing.
Functions of an air curtain:
- Insulating air layer: the air curtain creates a strong, controlled layer of air that acts as a barrier between the hot and cold rooms.
- Automatic activation: air curtains are programmed to operate automatically when doors are opened, providing quick and efficient shielding.
- Adjustable airflow: the strength and speed of the airflow can be adjusted to the specific temperature differences between the rooms, thus ensuring optimal separation.
- Energy-efficient system: since the air curtain prevents climate-conditioned air from escaping from one room to another, it is an energy-efficient solution. The rooms need less frequent re-climatization, resulting in lower energy costs and reduced consumption of heating and cooling systems.
Conclusion: Powerstream is thus an effective and energy-efficient solution to prevent fog and ice build-up, while helping to maintain the desired temperature and humidity in both areas. This not only contributes to safety and comfort, but also to a more sustainable and cost-effective management of climate-controlled environments.
